A roof sensor would let the driver know that an item has been (is) on the roof. Example, a cup of coffe set on the roof while you load your items. More serious cases are when a child seat or pet cage is placed on the roof and forgotten. The sensor would worn prior to starting the vehicle. Also could be disarmed for towing purposes.
