Redesigned Escape steering wheel

We recently rented a 2013 Escape for our vacation. I was not at all impressed with the steering wheel. Having small hands, I was unable to grasp the wheel in the usual ten two position. My fingers did not meet if I chose to do so. Please give back a regular steering wheel or make it an option. for others like me.

Aaron K In the automotive world, especially in enthusiast circles, a wider steering wheel is more desirable. It gives the driver improved grip and leverage versus a thin, less ergonomic wheel. I'm sure this is Ford's thinking. My 2012 Focus has the same steering wheel, and I quite prefer it to ones that are the same width all the way around. Just another perspective.
