LED lighting emits little heat. With more and more LED lights being used for headlights, this could pose a problem in areas where ice is common. Strips simililar to the strips used in a rear window defroster could be used inside of a headlight lens and could be hooked up to the cars heating system. The strips could go on when the cars heat is turned on.
