To mount forward facing LED brake lights either in the grill or behind the rear view mirror would advise oncoming vehicles or pedestrians that you are in the process of stopping or slowing down.
Say, a pedestrian crossing the road which is not able to make eye contact yet will know if a slow down is in the process. Left turning vehicles trying to clear an intersection at the light change would be able to clear the intersection faster if they know that you are stopping.
Minimal cost and minimal redesign for greater Safety awareness.
