Tired of aching / raw left elbow on long hauls...
I have a 2002 F350 Lariat SRW CC 4x4 and have several long distance trips under the belt: NC to AZ, NC to FL, NC to PA, etc. etc. and pretty much every time, my left elbow gets to aching and has actually been rubbed raw from resting it on the same spot on the arm rest and top of the door panel... My idea is to have inconspicuous panel-type pop-outs in those locations that when removed, reveal a gel-type insert that cushions but still adequately supports my elbow during those long rides. It doesn't need to be squishy, just be a little softer and have a little more "give" than your average door panel material. Here's a little challenge for you... Go out to your vehicle and place your elbow in either of the places described and move it back-and-forth about an inch for 5 minutes or so to "simulate driving"... Still have skin on your elbow? How raw do you think it would be after a 28 hour / 2000 mile drive from NC to AZ?
