It's time for a very light duty pickup again. The Ranchero and Chevrolet El Camino were ahead of their time. I envision a Hybrid four door Edge pickup with a five foot bed. Replace the weighty, low clearance gas sucking mechanical four wheel drive system with a light weight electrical motor on each rear wheel. Current would be provided by the Hybrid battery. The rear wheel motors would kick in as front wheel slippage was detected. The rear wheels could also be switch activated momentarily if the vehicle was stuck. Adjustable automatic -manual air shocks would kick the payload capacity close to a half ton. Get er done, want mine in White with a Charcoal interior please.
