Why force Americans to buy full size, v6/v8, gasoline sucking trucks? Please sell the diesel, global ranger here. If you don't I will have to buy the remodeled, to be made in Missouri, 2013 Chevrolet Colorado.

tim himmelberger I would like an economical pickup that can easily pull a trailer in the 3000 to 5000 lb range. Something that gets good gas mileage during normal driving. Full size trucks have been outcompeting one another for so long that they have become too capable and too expensive. The global ranger is a truck that satifies my needs as well as those of many other people. I plan on buying a boat in the next few years, and I will have to upgrade from my current 2.3L Ranger. If I can't get the new ranger, I'll be looking hard at the Chevy Colorado and the Nissan Frontier. 3 months(s) ago via Ford Social
David Duggan They need to bring it to the states. People would drive that truck. You'd be surprised how many working class Americans need a slightly smaller fuel efficient truck. 3 months(s) ago via Ford Social
Curtis Houck BTW, If the 2013 Chevy Colorado lands with a fun to drive 6 speed manual along with low curb weight that's inline with light duty pickup's and a rocking motor under the hood , i suppose i will be forced to break a 40 year run of driving Fords . At least the Chevy drum beats of possible new models. Fords drums seem to be silent.
Other brands are reported to me making small pickups soon. I want a small base truck that i can modify into a sport truck more so than buying a VW GTI and being done with it. 3 months(s) ago via Ford Social
Curtis Houck The high MSRP of the outgoing Ranger reg cab base truck killed the market desire . For what we got , i believe 14k MSRP would have been more in line given the truck didn't recieve upgrades over the years. Ford should have give it another engine choice to up the power to weight ratio and lowered the MSRP and actually made a market for the Ranger aka , small economical sport truck . Ford can keep the world platform Ranger because it appears the MSRP will be far above 20k USD and that's for a plain jane base model.
I say bring the Courier into the states and keep the MSRP low and affordable . We need something affordable so we can buy the fuel needed for daily transportation . A 1.4 turbo diesel in the F-150 isn't the answer i'm hoping to see. 3 months(s) ago via Ford Social
Christopher Carey Agreed, stop using the excuse "there is no market" when Toyota is owning it hands-down. We need a manufacturer to step up and bring a diesel with good gas mileage in a cheaper, midsize crew cab. Heck, give it roll up windows and a vinyl interior, at least do something! 3 months(s) ago via Ford Social
