Most engine wear happens at start-up, before the oil has begun to circulate. My idea is an auxiliary electric oil pump that begins pressuring the oil system prior to start. The ignition system would be disabled until oil pressure hits a preset level, then the electric pump is turned off and the regular mechanical pump takes over.
