SVT 4 ME I think Ford should work with Shelby, Roush, Multimatic Motorsports, Black Forest Motorsports, and whom ever would also like to add real R&D into the possibility of an "After market" available IRS offering. Make it either available through the FRPP channels, or through Shelby Automotive. The option should be there. For some it won't be worth the price, for others it makes more sense than spending 7k on a bigger blower option. While your at it, why not look at the possibilty of making it a complete transaxle setup learning from the experiences with the Ford GT. Do it right!!!

matt You obviously missed the "adapted atrocity" of an IRS they had to put in the 99/01 and 03/4 Cobra. Being a current owner of both a 2004 Cobra and a 2009 GT500; I can tell you that the '09 rides 99% the same as my '04 *most* of the time and the cheaper cost, simplicity and general bomb-proof 8.8 stick axle works just fine. If Multimatic Motorsports can take the FR500C with a stick axle and go beat Porsche's and other IRS equipped race cars with the live axle...I don't think Ford needs to complicate things with another "adapted" bolt in IRS system again.
