more power
Everyone knows that the 5.0 has always been a power plant for the ford mustang, anyone who's owned one could tell you about the low end tourque put out vs the low end of the 4.6. To look back at the pushrod 5.0, you'll see it had a four inch bore for the piston, which gave it that low end umph. Looking at the present dohc modular 5.0 and the power it produces, if it also was equipped with a four inch bore, wouldn't the power outcome be greater????

N. Rodriguez Yeah, it wouldn't be a 5.0 without decreasing the stroke, which would be a performance tradeoff, not an enhancer.

art hansen No because fi you increase the diameter of the cylindar and not change the stroke than you increase the cubic inches and it would no longer be a 302.
