Manual trans in a f150
I wish ford still offered a manual trans in the f150. I have no want to drive an automatic and I am currently looking for a new full size truck. I had a 98 v8 5speed f150 after high school and would like to find something similar again. I wish I could go get the new 3.7 v6 with a manual trans and 4wd. I think if you offered one at a reasonable price the 97-03 v6 deal would take off again, seriously, you can look around and most of those gen trucks you see are all a manual trans. I despise having an automatic and always try to choose the manual option if it exists. Please offer this ford.

Kean M I am driving my first AT truck a 2011 2WD v6 F150. Burned out the clutch on my last truck, 2WD MT could not handle the boat ramp. I would have considered a MT on the F150 4WD.

Brad Krekelberg America wants manuals! I don't care how efficient you make an automatic, I'll never want one.

Curtis Houck I agree with you but it seems Ford is currently building what they want to sell , not especially what potential buyers are needing in this economy . The lack of a compact truck in the current line-up rings a bell on that. If a true, light duty manual shift F-100 was in the line up with a much lower MSRP , i believe many would well however 25k for a base truck without the frills is a bit much for this buyer today, tomorrow and next year and so on. I wish the best for Ford but it seems they are going to loose a good many sales to the import trucks that still offer manual transmissions for under or at 18k dollars MSRP. Loss of sales now affects a few years down the road when people don't want to trade in a 2012-13 model truck and get hit with the depreciation and choose to drive them on out for 10-12 years . That's alot of potential sales lost over the coming years if you ask me. It looks like i will be buying Toyota Tacoma reg cab because of wanting that std shift transmission Ford chooses not to use in the F-150 --- which is still too much for most of my weekend needs.

Christopher Kirk Les - I hear and agree with you. I will drive my F350 Diesel w/6spd stick until it dies, then after that I will buy an import. Ford has no interest in meeting the demand of those who want a stick. I've heard the argument that "no one buys them". Of course no one buys them because FORD NEVER MAKES THEM!!! Unless a dealer could find you a stick that was already made, you would have to wait 6 weeks to get a stick, so of course no one bought them. Most people don't want to wait that long. Ford is only interested in selling you want they want to make, not what you want to buy. I'm sure that the profit margin is fatter on automatics, so why should Ford bother with those of us who actually want to control the vehicle, rather than sitting back, dropping it in drive and pointing it. Ford lost me as a customer when they decided to ram an automatic down my throat. Makes me sad because I really like their trucks. Oh well...off to buy a Nissan. Chris
