Ford should create a system where the GPS navigational system communicates with the engine and transmission, to take into account the grade(hills ascending and descending), so the engine and transmission adjusts 'early' to more efficiently use the force of gravity while descending the hill, so the car uses less energy to climb the next hill. Especially with hybrid/electric vehicles.
For hybrid/electric vehicles with brake regeneration, the GPS system would offer an audible/light alert when to 'start' breaking for stop signs/lights for the most efficient capture of energy.
Also get the cities to share their traffic light data(red/yellow/green), so the cloud based navigation is better able to calculate route and speed based on traffic light patterns and current traffic, so the driver is able to make more green lights, and decrease 'full' stops and starts.
