Ford Vs Ram
Hey Ford Ram sales are creeping up on us Ford guys and they sell the G56 6-speed Manual transmission in the Ram 1500-3500 trucks and there sales have improved based on pick up trucks sales of Ram and We need to reoffer the ZF 6-speed Manual OD back in the Ford Super Duty F250-550 trucks now Please Ford , So can you reoffer the ZF 6-speed back in the Super Duty trucks with the diesel and gas so we can competiton with Ram since the have their manuals and thats we customers are buying more Rams since the sell offer the manual and us Die Hard Ford Guys still want our ZF 6 speed OD Manual back Josh

Mike Smith Ryan, it only made up 1% of their sales because Ford is not offering a manual option. If you can't drive a manual heavy duty truck, they offer an F-150 or Ranger. I don't mean to be demeaning, but if your driving 8000 Lbs to 22000 lbs of metal down the road, GVWR, then you should want complete control of it. Belts and fluid do not provide this.

Josh Zamboni Curtis And Ryan I just want Ford to reoffer the ZF 6-speed Manual besides Diesels are mean to be with Manuals like the Big Rigs and you have more control n torque then Automatic ones also ZF 6-speed Manuals equipped Ford Super Duty either gas or Diesel Sell like Hotcakes in Canada So us Canadians love our super duty, Powerstroke Diesel w/ ZF 6-speed Manual transmission, Automatic make the purchase price more , more expensive on repairs and some people like myself we need and want Standard over Auto thats all , Josh

Curtis Houck Dodge has very nice rebates and incentives on their Ram's. If they can get their currently planned ZF 8 speed automatic in the MY 2012.5 without raising the MSRP , sales will climb even more . Think about it , a 1/2 ton light duty truck in the low 18's OTD . Not bad at all. They could make a manual transmission model and lower that price by a thousand or so . In terms of reg cab no frills base trucks, i want to see war of the MSRP's . Capability and price seem to be getting out of hand.

Ryan Tokar For starters, the Ram 1500 is no longer offered with a standard transmission. So that's not even relevant. The new 800 ft-lb HO Cummins is only available with the 6-speed auto, so Dodge is clearly moving away from the manual transmissions themselves. Sure, there are lots of die hard guys that still want a standard transmission, but you've got to understand you make up an extremely small percentage of the marketplace. A friend at a local Dodge dealer told me that only about 1 out of every 75 Cummins-equipped trucks they sell has a standard transmission any more. It doesn't make any sense for Ford to develop a standard transmission that will handle 800 ft-lbs of torque in an 8000+ pound truck when it's making up roughly 1% of their sales.
