The Ford Expedition should revise it's engine of choice to include the 3.5 Ecoboost found on the current F-150 for both the performance boost as well as better mileage. The current 5.4-litre V8 should be discontinued altogether as it is a vastly outdated and thirsty engine.
Adding a V8 diesel engine might also be a good idea for foreign markets where diesels are much more popular. The best example of this is Toyota's Land Cruiser which has a 4.5L turbo diesel in other parts of the world.

Rebecca J Great ideas. I believe that both the 3.5L Ecoboost and the diesel engine would be hot sellers. I know many truck people that would like to drive an expedition but only own diesels. Also, I am holding out on buying my ford expedition untill it gets the 3.5L Ecoboost, as is many of my friends and family. Keep the idea rolling and maybe Ford will produce it. :) 1 months(s) ago via Ford Social
Chad This is a great idea, but being an old school kind of guy, I would love to see the 6.2 as an option also. Maybe in the form of a SVT Expedition? 3 months(s) ago via Ford Social
Pat Burger I reall would like to see the ecoboost in the expedition. We'd be willing to wait if we knew when it's supposed to be added, but if our truck dies before it is available we'll end up going with the jeep 4-door 3 months(s) ago via Ford Social
Tyler Sutton I have no idea why people here don't consider diesels here there way more fuel efficent and way more powerful then the gas engines in there class and there 90% better for the environment because you can run them on vegetable oil or bio diesel without any side effects to your engine you actually get more power from the vegetable oil or biodiesel because it's got higher cetane levels and it's a natural fuel so your engine runs way better because of the lack of carbon build up all cars and trucks should be diesel running on grown fuels or running on ethanol but big oil companies don't want this. 4 months(s) ago via Ford Social
