The 2012 and 2013 Ford Focus' are all I've been able to drive as and Enterprise: Rent-a-car, car prep,but even someone who has driven them only once could realize that the transmission is terrible. They shake like they're going to fall apart when they're idling and they shift like a bucking bronco. They also seem to change gears too fast or rather in to fast of a succession. I think it would be great to see the 2014 and later Focus' have a CVT transmission in them. I've driven vehicles with this kind of transmission and they are so smooth! They are also a lot less complex, at least in the design concept. I think a CVT transmission would greatly improve the Focus and I believe they would also be great for all your vehicles up to at least the Flex in size.
