Base Future Transit Connect on 2013 Escape
I’ve been looking at the 2013 Escape as a personal vehicle and I’m trying to convince the agency I work for to buy some Transit Connects. I’ve been reading every article I can find about the 2013 Escape and I would love to see many of the Escape’s features on a future Transit Connect. Features like: AWD, high MPG EcoBoost engines, 6 speed automatic transmission, available 3,500 lb. tow capacity, AWD, completely redesigned dashboard and controls, more comfortable seats, did I mention AWD? I’d like to see the future Transit Connect built on the same line as the 2013 Escape and share most of its parts with the Escape. The front end, driveline, tires, dashboard, controls, and front seats would all be exactly the same as the Escape. I’d also like to see some European Transit Connect features make their way over. Features such as optional 3rd row seating and an optional liftgate rather than rear doors. The liftgate could have a hands-free option as well.

mikel l I drive a 2010 XLT. I'm pretty happy with my Vannie-Boy; our Turkish engineers have done a great job assembling my van, but he needs a little more power HP/torque. The new Focus 2.0 I4 can make 160HP. I sure hope the new TC made in Kentucy/Michigan . . . will have the same power plant available. I will upgrade as soon as our Ford engineers get their "mo HP" and "mo torque" act together!

Terry I agree with the above comments. I have an 09 Connect and my main complaints are lack of power and bare bones options (no nav, better seat material, etc.)
