Affordable Drag-Pack Mustang
Have a Mustang model (similar to the Drag-Pack or "Factory Lightweight") from back in the 60's. Only with new technology etc. Start with a 2013 Mustang GT 5.0 Remove the heavy stereo amps....just 4-6 speakers & the amp power from the head unit. standard 17" wheels...can even be basic wheels from another Ford vehicle...they only have to look decent & function. MANUFACTURER COUPON and/or Partnership with Racing Wheel Manufacturer Option A: when you buy the car you get a $200 off coupon for...let's say Weld RT-S wheels. Option B: You get the $200 off coupon & can finance the wheels & tires for the wheels at time of purchase of the car. ((You could even work out a deal with Summit Racing and/or Jegs)) The order is placed when the car is purchased & the wheels/tires are shipped to the dealership for pick-up. Ford will mount & balance the wheels & tires. Your choice of 275/60/15 darg radials or an 8" true slick. The car is equipped with 4:10 gears and the 6 speed transmission. The final drive (6th gear ratio is .58:1) so the car will still get good fuel mileage. The front struts are 10 way adjustable (Tokico or Strange Engineering) The rear shocks are 10 way adjustable (Tokico or Strange Engineering) This allows manual drag-race setting for track use....and click them back to street setting for the drive home. The car comes with either a cold-air set-up or a K&N filter from the factory. No fog lights, no traction control, No jack, no rear floor mats, no mini-spare, no lug wrench No pinstriping, no metalllic paint...car comes in either black or white only. The Boss 302 Upper intake/throttle body comes standard The warranty on the car is 3 year 36K miles only. Two Keys (a.) street tune is a black key (b.) performance tune is a blue key (set-up for drag-strip performance) Tunes will be able to be discussed/modified by Ford Tuner via unlock code that comes with car....unlocking the performance tune for editing will void warranty though.) The car would come with the lowest cost/lightest weight seats offered in the Mustang line-up....all interiors will be black. Any/all unnecessary trim pieces will be deleted. The heavy stock/segmented driveshaft would be replaced with an aftermarket aluminum one-piece driveshaft. Price the car at the same price as the base Mustang GT..... Someone would need to do a component deletion cost analysis -vs- the cost of the added components. Buyers would also receive a $50 off coupon for a Go-Pro camera set-up & be encouraged to submit videos of the cars being raced & drag strips and/or drag racing events. The videos would be posted on a Ford site. "Camaro Kills" would be the featured videos....

Ryan&Carmen G Basic/simple=reliable, light, and of course fast. Less components means less to go wong and more of a drivers car. Theres a reason why the old cars are still running strong, good basic design south only one thing in mind.. speed. who needs a stereo when you have the rumble of a beastly 5 litre ford v8 to listen toanyway?

Ken Keith For a drag package, how about gutting the interior, to just two bucket seats, no heater or stereo, etc. just like in the old days with the T-Bolts and such? But make them street legal
