I think that for the 2016 model year the Ford F-150 could use a few minor changes to better satisfy Ford fans. First off, as the shifter being mounted on the center console has caused some debate, I believe this should only be offered in certain trim models, such as Limited or FX2. Other than that I believe the Colum shifter should be the standard as it feels much more like a truck. Secondly, in addition to the 2.7 ecoboost V6 and 3.5 ecoboost V6, The F-150 should be offered with a modified version of the 3.2 Liter Powerstroke 5 Cylinder, to compete with the Ram Ecodiesel. A Diesel Powered F-150 would do well for sure.
As for the Super Duty, The 6.2 Liter V8 may need to be updated and tweaked to better compete with the Ram 6.4 Liter Hemi V8, perhaps with the addition of dual turbochargers, as that has worked well for Ford so far. Lastly, a cab option similar to the Mega Cab offered by Ram would eliminate the last reason to buy a Ram over an F-series Pickup.
