2014 Ranger proposal
Fellow Ford Friends and Ranger owners, For many years we have enjoyed the economy and practicality of our Ford Rangers. However, many of us have sacrificed curb appeal, functionality, power, and performance for moderate fuel economy. But Ford has now entered into a new era. The Eco-boost engine has refinished the appeal of Ford's drivetrain. And now, it is time for the Ranger to have it's turn. There are websites dedicated to turbo rangers. These trucks have undergone dramatic resto-modifications to make this happen, but the result...a balance between fuel economy and power. The body style of our beloved ranger looks tired and impotent. Even a few years ago, it seemed to have a more aggressive stance. Even the UK Rangers look better than the ones in America. My proposal is that Ford Motor Co, reinvent the Ranger line. The new design should have aggressive styling, including a redesigned interior, and engineered for maximum riding comfort. I envision 4 or 5 packages: -Base model - for company vehicles, etc. -Eco-boost model - similar to base for those who like performance -Racing model - Urban styling, High performance, Aggressive looks, and lots of accessories. -Raptor model - a pre-runner in a compact package. -Hybrid model - practical, economically priced, and plush. Drawings/Renderings to come:

Peter Ford needs a diesel Focus and a diesel Ranger. I know Ford already has these options in other countrys why not bring them here. Also more awd cars would be nice.

Brian S bring it to the U.S. this is exactly what the doctor has ordered and this market has been needing for the last decade+. no interest in a full size truck or an import from me or people like me. make it happen Ford!!

Regina Sewell I love my 2007 Ford Ranger and while it's cool to modernize, I don't want a monster truck. I'd rather have a hybrid Ranger. If I wanted a monster truck, I'd by a Jeep or one of those huge Nissans. You you want to modernize, focus on power and efficiency, and keeping it in the size range of the old Ford Currier (late 70's) to the Midsize Rangers of the 2000's.....

Joseph R I would buy a new Ranger if one came out. I'd love to see it come back like the Taurus did, redesigned and better than ever. Make it happen Ford, there are a lot of us that want a small 4x4 truck with a manual transmission and extended cab - build it and they will come!

Gary B Not everyone wants a huge truck. The Ranger is perfect for my needs and a 4 door model it even better. I had a 2003 Ranger Edge and it was fun to drive. Bring back the Ranger!

Julian B Duron I do not want to see Ford lay down and give up on the small truck market. This is no better than a surrender to the Japan's Auto Industry. This is not the American way. Some true patriot Americans still want to buy AMERICAN. I want an economical small truck 4 four option with a gas saving engine. V-6 3.0 or 3.7. This comment from a Navy Veteran.

Carlos I want a RANGER 2014 I live in San Diego CA and I went to Tijuana and they have the new Ford Ranger 2014 literature .. FORD in US have to bring them here too...

Gary To Ford Motor Company. I hope that as a company, you have rewarded the person or persons responsible for your decision to drop the ranger from the US lineup. Obviously it was a huge burden on your company to build and sell those thousands and thousands of trucks that we enjoyed so much. So now, I'll be driving my Ranger to the local Toyota dealership to look at new Tacoma's. Thank You

Keith I've been a proud owner of a 2001 Ford Sport Trac since it was a baby. I was hoping to purchase a new one when the all new Explorer came out...Nope, it didn't happen. Then I saw the Ranger in Australia...., then I heard it wasn't coming to the US because Ford was afraid it would steal sales from it's F-150...To whomever is reading these from Ford....Bring the 2013/2014 ranger to the US, call it the F-100 (so you can include it in your F-series sales data), and build as many as you can.... because you will sell everyone one of them (hopefully including the diesel version as you do everyone else and the ecoboost engine)...We are a very loyal Ranger/Sport-Trac group, but our patience, loyalty, and pocket books are beginning to look elsewhere...(hint)

Casey C I know I'm bringing up an old thread, but this truck seriously needs to come to the USA! Please Ford!!!!

Jettcity1 Bring the Ranger to the US and offer the Ecotech and I would but it. My Nissan Frontier currently is the only game in town and I know the Fords would sell. Not everyone in the uS wants an F-150. parking lots are smaller and so are garages and driveways, we dont have the extra room and dont want a bigger truck. I know there are thousands of happy consumers that love the newer Rangers. Do it and dont forget we like diesel too.

Liam R It is very needed. The 2011 ranger was still essentially the identical truck to what it was back in 2001, yet it was still the highest selling compact truck out there before they discontinued it... and people are STILL buying them! Ford is trying super hard to convince compact pickup people to buy an F-150. Attempting to convince the consumer to "upgrade"... STX anyone? "Save $20/month compared to the ranger!" If you're trying to get people to stop buying essentially a 10-year old truck... Obviously there is still a huge market for a good compact truck. Bring us the Global ranger you fools! or someone else will bring in a legit compact truck and you'll spend the next 10 years trying to play catch-up.

Mark M Ford think about this, I currently own a 2000 Tundra it was smaller than the 150 but could handle everything I needed. Now I can only go to the Tacoma or Colorado for a similar truck. Lots of truck owners need a easy to maneuver, comfortable commuter during the week and weekend hauler for home improvement. The 150 is to big during the week when doing day to day errands. Your competitors offer options why not you

Seth Exactly what ralph d said. My sentiments exactly!

ralph d I want something to replace my 2002 Explorer Sport Trac. 4 doors, seats 5 comfortably. Pick up bed, 4x4. I want my next one to be a Electric Plug in type that would get me around town in my short commutes with electric power only. Ford has all the parts to my next vehicle in the stables they just need realize that not everyone in the USA wants or needs a F-150. I just need something for weekend runs to Costco, putting a couple of kids and there hockey equipment in it on the weekends. 4x4 for when it snows. plug in electric drive!!! Ford you have all the pieces in the stables. Put this together please!

blksn8k With future CAFE requirements all manufacturers, including Ford, will need to develop more efficient trucks. Also, many customers, including myself, have no use for a truck the size of an F-150. And I am not interested in a wimpy uni-body "truck" like the Ridgeline. I want a real truck, just not the size of an F-Series. My current truck is a V-8 4x4 Sport Trac and it suits my needs perfectly. Unfortunately, Ford cancelled that model as well. Please Ford, get your head out of where ever it is and bring us the T6 Ranger with efficient gas engine options like the 2.0L EB or the 3.7L TiVCT V-6 for those who need more power. The diesel engines offered in the not-for-US T6 would be great but I doubt you would get the same power and efficiency due to US diesel emissions regs.

Jake J Bring the either the austrailian ford ranger or F 100 concept to the U.S.!!! Don't let chevy take the compact pickup sales.

James Dunn Good Idea, But make sure Ford does not get too futuristic!!! by keeping the Ranger simple & stylish/ Not like their European or Australian models. My recommendations for Ford is for the new modeled truck ...would be to make sure that they use their designs of their 2003,2004, & 2011 Ford Ranger Edge Truck & the New Designs of the 2011-2012 Ford F-150 Ecoboost & Lariet models...they can mix the ideas in the new modeled truck. Also Juston P. has some good ideas about using a 1.6 or 2.0 Ecoboost Engine in the new models, which would be the right way to go. If Juston ever reads this note..Good Job Buddy..Keep up the Good Work..& Keep on Fighting for Us. Thanks for reading, Jay :)

Curtis Houck No sadness in seeing the Mazda Ranger go away from the lineup here. Fact, i hope it never comes back and instead two new and afforable offerings in it's place is what i'd like to see. 1. The Courier from Mexico and 2 , an F-100 light duty with manual shift or the Falcon UTE < think Ranchero> as the two offering that replace the Ranger. I could never understand the heavy curb weight ,low power mid size pickup's. Chevy will be making the new design Colorado soon which is midsize but that doesn't mean Ford needs to bring the world platform Ranger in because of it. Bye bye Ranger and hello Courier and F-100 is what i'd like to see.

Luis Lujan Mustang, Robert? Kill the Mustang? Are you insane? The idea of a new Ranger is great, and I don't understand why they killed it in the first place. The argument for me is that everyone loves the Toyota Tacoma, even me, but I wouldn't buy one, of course. So why not have the Ranger compete with it? The absurd thing is there's already a new, awesome Ranger out there, it's just being kept from us. I realize Ford doesn't want to draw sales from the F-150 and they say the sizes are so similar anyway, and blah blah blah. The reality is no one compares the F-150 to the Ranger. Ranger has always been little red-headed stepchild. I would love one of those new Rangers, four doors, 4X4, EcoBoost four or even six cylinder engine. It sounds beautiful.

Robert Todd My mother always said, wishing is free so wish all you want. The accountants at Ford are most likely delighted thst ford is done with the Ranger and Mercury and Soon the E series and Crown Vic and maybe Lincoln and Mustang a little bit later
