Instead of the thin foil-like coating on my 2012 Focus SE's steering wheel (or any other model sharing that wheel and/or trim) perhaps Ford could consider a plastic with the color molded in (ie. "silver" plastic) The trim on the current models flakes, chips off, and is rather sharp. My 2012 Focus steering wheel trim began flaking off at 17K miles. I understand it's under warranty, but consumers do not want to bother with such inconveniences as faulty trim. Developing a better looking molded-in color plastic would save manufacturing costs, the use of adhesives, the use of metals, and wouldn't have chipping/flaking. Thanks, Ford. You're doing great.
