Interrupted power supply to the electric engine will make it stronger, and will save battery power. I think they use this king of system at Tesla Roadster/Model S engines. The only thing is, it takes experimenting and some maths, so you'll get the right frequencies of interruption, so this will not affect the commodity of the driving experience (the driving will stay smooth).
