dual steam engine
simply place exhaust in more locations to deal with the steam produced by a secondary steam engine (like the trains) that works along side the traditional car engine

Michael M Good Idea , Tata Motors of India I believe have bought some Steam Engine Technology but don't seem to be acting on it. As far as i can see the only disadvantage of using steam is you will not be liked by any Fuel Company - actually there is no downside !
