Diesel+Hybrid
Granted, not a new idea. But consider the new 200hp diesel engine mated to a plug-in hybrid system with Ford select-shift tranny. Throw that in the new Fusion, Ranger, Taurus, Escape, Edge, Flex. Diesel is here to stay, despite what mainstream media and huge corporations want you to think, yes it is efficient, highly durable, and cost effective. The 2.2L Duratorq engine puts out 200hp and 310ft/lbs... Come on people, we should be fighting Ford for this engine in America!

Chuck Julian I agree that the hybrids should go diesel. I would like them to put a diesel hybrid in an Explorer and have a transmission that would allow you to tow a trailer.
