Ford's electric Focus seems to be a promising addition to the line-up! But the problem with all electric cars today is that they have limited range and need multiple hours to charge. The solution to this problem is to have the car generate its own electricity without more polution. Ford can do this by having the front wheels powered by two individual electric motors (one for each wheel). These electric motors would get their electricity from a flywheel-driven generator. The flywheel would get its motion from rotation of the rear wheels. This system would end the need for pit-stops!

terry chin I can see that regenerative braking would help power the battery but....... to have a constant drag on the wheels all the time would just about kill any decent range from the batteries. It would make the batteries work harder thus shortening the life span of them. 2 year(s) ago via Ford Social
