The Ford Ranger hasn't even been out of production for a year and I already miss it. We need a small, cheap truck that is good on gas. Bring back the Ranger!

James Dunn Good Idea, But make sure Ford does not get too futuristic!!! by keeping the Ranger simple & stylish/ Not like their European or Australian models.
My recommendations for Ford is for the new modeled truck ...would be to make sure that they use their designs of their 2003,2004, & 2011 Ford Ranger Edge Truck & the New Designs of the 2011-2012 Ford F-150 Ecoboost & Lariet models...they can mix the ideas in the new modeled truck. Also Juston P. has some good ideas about using a 1.6 or 2.0 Ecoboost Engine in the new models, which would be the right way to go. If Juston ever reads this note..Good Job Buddy..Keep up the Good Work..& Keep on Fighting for Us. Thanks for reading, Jay :) 2 months(s) ago via Ford Social
James Williamson Wish they had kept the Ranger, but Ford had "improved" so much over the years it wasn't desirable any more. The improvements came from focus groups, accountants and marketing people. For that reason, I traded my 93 Ranger with 218K miles in for a 2007 F-150 Crew. Would have loved to have gotten the diesel crew Ranger that was being made overseas at the time. Sorriest thing I've ever done. If I knew where it was today, I'd trade even up for it back. 4 months(s) ago via Ford Social
Gary Christner I agree with Fred can't see the reasoning for ending production. I think if Ford would put the Mustangs 3.7 L V6 in the Ranger with 300 HP and30 MPG it would sell as is with no changes at all and easily done. 5 months(s) ago via Ford Social
Tom A. Jeff, of course the F150 is going to offer more. But, we don't need more. It's huge, expensive and hard on gas (as are all full-size pickups). Ford is truly missing the boat by not bringing the global Ranger home! Poor sales were little more than sabotage due to neglect. Those engines are weak and inefficient. A new Ranger with the 1.6L and 2.0L EcoBoost engines would be great! The 2.0L EcoBoost runs circles around the 4.0L V6 currently offered! Where is my 2.0L EcoBoost 4x4 Ranger?!? 5 months(s) ago via Ford Social
It breaks my heart the the Ranger is dead...so many memories I've had with the Ranger, my dad, and my dogs. 5 months(s) ago via Ford Social
Fred Eich No more Ranger? Mistake.... big mistake. 5 months(s) ago via Ford Social
Roland King I see more Rangers on the road than Toyotas,Chevy's, etc. This is a proven little brother to the F-150. I have a red 2007 Ranger that gets 28 mpg 4 cylinder engine. Everywhere I go I get many compliments on this truck. Ford you have a Winner, reconsider plans for this great truck! 6 months(s) ago via Ford Social
Jeff Powers The Ranger is still in production in North America but will end prior to the end of 2011. Demand for the Ranger pickup was less than 60,000 units annually and the ecoboosted V6 F-150 offers nearly the same fuel economy with more capability. 6 months(s) ago via Ford Social
Juston Preble We need a small cheep truck! Keep the Ranger, and Keep it small! Give us an Eco Boost 4cyl with 160 HP/255lbs/ft Torque. Thats what my 1996 Ranger Splash had. It easily got the job done, and could pull all the trailers for light duty just fine... Add NAV, rear disc brakes, sound insulation that people would brag about!!! I don't want to here the engine nor road noise... Keep It Simple (KISS) And Build It Ford Tough, Made In The USA... 6 months(s) ago via Ford Social
David Scott I agree why get rid of the ranger ? we need a small pickup maybe a small diesel motor as well. they put them in some of the 80s model rangers why not do it now. 6 months(s) ago via Ford Social
