Side sensors for opening the side door for people with special needs –
As a convenience option the new Ford Escape has sensors to activate/open the rear lift gate. To assist those with special needs whether they're in a wheelchair or otherwise, install sensors on the side door which would automatically open it up and deploy the wheelchair lift or ramp. This could very easily be done and it would be much better than needing to fumble around, searching for the key remote when the weather is bad or any time there hands are not free to push the buttons. From a personal perspective, this would be extremely handy and if it could be retrofitted onto my van, I would do it in a heartbeat. "Ford – Drive One!"
