radio/clock display
On the Mercury Mariner/Ford Escape the display for the radio/clock cannot be read when the sun is shining. Either a hood could be placed over it to shield the sun or move the heating vents up and place the display underneath the vents.

Bob Stringham Shortly after taking delivery of my 08 Mariner Hybrid in Feb 07, I fashioned a paper hood to be able to see the top of radio stack display - here in Central Arizona we have very bright sun conditions many days of the year. I have not, however, found a solution for the odometer/message center display which is way too often illegible due to sunlight blending. By contrast, I've not had difficulty seeing the navigation/power flow display screen.
