Ford Social: Longer dipstick on F150

Longer dipstick on F150

I just bought a 2013 F150 with the eco-boost engine. Is there any reason the dipstick is so short that you can't reach it easily? I'm not short either, just seems like 6? more inches and there would be no reason to either get a step or lean over the fender so far.

Jeffrey Z I have to agree. With maintenance being more important than ever, it should be made more and more convenient to monitor systems and levels.

scott c I have a F150 with the 5.0 and i have the same problem. I need a stool to stand on to lean over the fender to reach it. This is my first Ford so im not sure if they have always had them this way. I know chevy extends theres to make it easy.
