Extending tow mirrors on F150 without max tow package
The telescoping trailer tow mirrors should be a stand alone option on F150 XLT regular cab and other models. The extending mirrors are so you can see the trailer you are pulling and past the trailer to see traffic. They have nothing to do with the weight of the trailer being pulled. I pull several trailers that are light but wide. None of them require the Max tow package. I bought my first set aftermarket from the company that makes them for Ford so Ford made no money on them. My second truck had the dreaded rough riding max tow package so it came with the extending mirrors. The truck that I am buying now will not under any circumstances have the Max tow package. I will be taking the mirrors off my current truck and putting them on my new one so Ford will not make any money on them.
