The Ford Transit Connect is great but too small for many applications. Can't they make and extended version 2 -3 feet longer with a 1.6L or 2.0L Ecoboost engine?
You would be getting more load capacity and good fuel efficiency. That would be a winner and I would buy one in a minute if available.

Dean M There should be a TC that is not as tall and longer. That way it would fit in all underground garages. In Minneapolis/St. Paul I cannot get into half of the garages. The TC is taller than a stock 4x4 suburban. They should offer a V6 model so it would be better at cross country. Current motor is to small if you are going to leave the city. 5 months(s) ago via Ford Social
Mat R Seems like it would be easy to build a long wheel-base TC and throw in an Ecoboost for efficiency. Sounds like a winner to me. 1 year(s) ago via Ford Social
Jon D I would like to see a Transit Connect be able to accomated 4' x 8' sheets of drywall or plywood. Also would like to have the ability to convert one into a micro-RV. Would like to have one for transporting Boy Scouts and their gear. 7 passenger seating + a little more storage space, similar to the Family Connect concept vehicle. 1 year(s) ago via Ford Social
Paul P I agree. It would be nice if I could fit a sheet of plywood or drywall in the back. 1 year(s) ago via Ford Social
