Being that trucks now can handle more payload, why not make a 10 foot bed? I saw an idea posted for a 12 foot bed, which is also a good idea, but that seems like a lot of bed that can go unsupported between the cab and the rear wheels. 10 feet is perfect if you do construction, farm work, landscaping, etc.
