MyKey Makes for Safe Teens, Sane Parents

You and your kid may have the greatest relationship on the planet, but it’s in a teen’s DNA to find it totally uncool having you ride shotgun during the process of learning to drive. When the day comes to be legally allowed to go it alone, the teen driver will probably feel like it’s finally the first day of the rest of his or her life. For parents, it will probably feel like the first day of the rest of the ulcer they’re going to develop knowing their baby is driving a car. Alone. Read more…

Check Out the Collector Cars that Ford Employees Own

Ever wonder what cars the employees of Ford have a passion for? Once a year, the product development (that’s car-industry jargon for “engineering”) team organizes a car show on the front lawn of the Ford Product Development Center in Dearborn. It’s a chance for Ford employees to bring out their personal cars and display their enthusiasm for all things automotive. Read more…

One-of-a-Kind 2012 Mustang

When you turn 100, it’s pretty much guaranteed Willard Scott will Photoshop your face onto what is seemingly the label of a jar of jam and give a birthday shout-out. But when it’s 100 years of naval aviation we’re talking about? Jam is a no-go. But an extraordinary car created for the occasion? That’ll do. Read more…

Join the Live Chat with Ford Hybrid and Battery Engineers to Talk About Durability

Nearly every time we post an article about a hybrid or electric vehicle, concerns about the battery and system longevity are raised. That’s natural as these are relatively new technologies in the more than 100-year-old history of the automobile. But Ford has some interesting data that shows that you may be twice as likely to win the lottery than owners of Ford hybrid vehicle are to have a durability issue their vehicle. Read more…

Jeffrey Michaud My Ford story is back in 1965 I was only three and my dad had just purchased a F-100 with the 352 cid flathead it was blue and white, our next door neighbor was the Ford dealership 30 feet to our property. all 7 of us kids piled in the truck (I being the youngest sat next to dad) and went to the spring on Rte. 150, we backed out to turn around and dad put the pedal to the metal and we laid rubber for 20+ feet and all us kids were going wild. He did the same thing again in 1973 when he bought a F-250 4-spd with a, I think it was a 360 cid and it was my dad, stepmother and myself and he stopped at a stop sign on this road and when he took off he matted it and I remember the back end of the truck laying some rubber but also strting to bounce.

Yvonne Simmons-Sims When I was a little girl growing up in Chicago, it was a big deal when a family member would buy a car. My uncle loved Thunderbirds and the day he was able to purchase his first Thunderbird we celebrated big time. This was the most gorgeous car, it was shiny brown and it was luxurious to me, its the only way I can describe it. He was so proud of that car, it was a used car, but it was brand new to him and everyone else. With a little entourage we went down to Maxwell Street where they had the best hot dogs and polishes in town and we celebrated his Thunderbird. That was in the 50s, back in the day, there were great memories when family purchased a car. A Thunderbird was a class act!

Edith Carey How about the one where Ford promissed life time protection for the pensions of those UK employees who were transfered to Visteon. Visteon went bust and did Ford honour their promisses? No chance.

Kevin Mcgee My family has been Ford for a while. My Grandfather made a beautiful maroon paint for Ford when Henry asked he and his team for it. My daughter's great grandfather worked at the Mahwah Plant. I have been a Ford tech since 2001, and always proud if that. When I heard the ranger might be discontinued I decided to order a brand new 2006 Ranger STX! I figured that with my money I could support the folks that have been making a product that I work on. Right here in USA! Being that my Father served in the Airforce, as well as my grandfather and my daughter's great grand father was part of the Army's air force before what we know as today's US Air Force. I wanted to support the people that my father, grand father and my daughter's great grand fathers's fought for, to keep their freedom. My neighbors at the Twin cities plant (I live in NJ) built my truck with US pride and I spent my money to pay them to make my truck for me. I wanted to support jobs here in USA, and I did better than a stock holder could. My money payed for their time while they built MY truck. My family only buys Built in USA Ford vehicles. We all support our country. And I can only hope that every one who buys a product, checks to see if it's Made in USA like we do. It supports our neighbors and their families too!

Chris Highley I've always owned f150 trucks my first was a 99 ext. cab 5.4 4x4. I went out one day to buy a old fox body hatch to build into a race car and accidently drove through a ditch and showed the ditch to a buddy, he laughed and said it wasn't a ditch it was the grand canyon! The ditch was about 5 feet across and 6 feet deep. The truck made it through without a scratch and didn't even know it was there! I love Fords and for all you Chevy people out there who keep saying chevy rocks, you can keep buying into the socialist, big brother government motors "GM" that took our bail out money and still overcharge for their problem vehicles. Ford motor company doesn't need you to bail them out anyways! Lol.

Susan Kay Powell Schutz I've read all the previous comments good & bad. All I have to say is we have an '84 Buidk LeSabre, '99 F250 Super Duty, '99 Jeep TJ, & an '08 F-150. No serious issues with any of them - just the usual wear & tear repairs needed. The F250 is near 300,000 miles right now. The only car that ever seriously let me down was a '93 Grand Prix just 1 month out of warranty that needed an engine rebuild which ended up costing $3500 - 1/2 of the price we paid for the silly thing.

Markus Minix OK Here's mine I waited for the new mustang with the old school styling to come out in 2005. I told my dealership what I wanted and the morning the truck brought it they called and told me my car was here. After a couple of months I called the Ford customer number to find out when she was built and what information they could give me. Well to my surprise, my Mustang was built on my birthday. I knew we had a connection, but that just makes her that much more special to me...

Branden Castleberry Which one do you want?? The story of the Families early 1980s Pinto Stationwagon that was what they had when I and my brother were born. Or after that say around '89 the two owners previous, all original '73 Mustang Grande (thats a fastback if you didnt know). Wanna hear about the '89 Thunderbird my uncle had? In the mid to late '90s Dad got a '86 Ranger for a good price. Or after that my first car in '05 the 1970 Galaxy 500 lx (two door Fastback, not like the old school Galaxy). Wanna hear about the '62 Continental I could have bought for $700 outta the junkyard and everything was there and original all the doors opened and closed..Or maybe yalld like to hear about the 2 1981 Ford Fairmont Futura that I bought one was for parts. Would you like to know of the recent Crown Vic POLICE INTERCEPTOR that moms old man has hadQ for the last 4 long yrs.? Or how about the fixer uppers im eyeballing, the '91 F250 extended cab 4 wheel drive diesel and also a early '80s model Mercury Cougar Diesel Stationwagon (for some reason I feel good about thatone) .. Alls I'm trying to say is this I am a Ford man, and my children will be Ford loving people. And one day I would also like to own a Ford tractor too. It made me so much prouder of my Ford Motor Company when you guys wouldnt accept "bailout monies" ... Because plain-and-simple we all know that mess has something peculiar about it anyways..And Henry Ford had discovered the hemp plastic is strong as if not stronger tgan steel and much lighter. . My stepfather also worked many many years for you guys and was laid off from his plant in Indiana but he still drives the 2000 Ranger XLT 4x4 he bought brand new. And btw i cant wait for one of the new 3 cylinder engines to cross my path, im tickled by that!! Thank you Ford for at least in my opinion keeping true to tge American people and may my heart NE'ER change for your product! Sincerely

When I got out I drove cross country to my home just east of Hershey, Pa, ... a memory I will never forget.

Fallon Smith We traded a tv for a trans am and a few hours later traded the t a for helenor who is our 89 stang. She is the first vehicle that me and my fiance got together and lifes been crazy this last couple years but we've managed to hang onto her and swap out her 2.3 for a stroked out 347..now we need to finish her up and get her to a track.

Fallon Smith I actually wrote a story about saving our 89 notch for a school assignment my otherwise tight lipped instructor had nothing but great things to say and even shared her own thoughts on how interesting it is that people essentially become one with their vehicles...I thin informed her that she was correct but had no idea how correct she was until she's owned a mustang.

Cannie Annie Tomorrow marks the anniversary of the last day that I spent with my 2 beautiful Fiestas. Took me 7 hours to empty the older one who was going to the end of her life the following day. We'd been through much together over the years, she was my best friend. I took a photo of them both shining in the sun.....That picture become known as Pride and Joy. A copy of it sits proudly on my desk, it's my screensaver and I've even got a small pic in my Fiesta of 7 years. It broke my heart when I parted with my Mk2 and it was my Mk5 that kept me going! We're still together, she's been through so much over the years but still as beautiful and as strong as ever. :)
