Everyone who becomes a Ford Social member has the opportunity to share their Ford stories, to upload ideas for Ford to consider and to be part of the Ford community. And every once in a while we give some of our members access to events and experiences that range from pretty darn cool to unbelievable. That last bit might sound like bragging, but don’t take our word for it – watch the video above to hear what a small group of Ford Social members had to say about the VIP experience that we gave them at the 2013 Ford EcoBoost® 400 NASCAR® race in Homestead, Florida!
Robert Carl thought our offer to bring him and his wife, Patricia, to Homestead to watch the race was a hoax. At some point, we’d ask for a credit card number or insist that they sit through a 90-minute property presentation. But the only thing we asked them to sit through was a ride around the 1.5-mile paved oval race track as passengers in the official Ford Mustang Pace Car.
Mother, wife and blogger (tobethode.com), Stefany Thode, wasn’t as reserved about an invitation to come to the race, but she wasn’t quite sure how to react when we told her that she’d be driving one off the Ford Super Duty® trucks around the track with the actual race car drivers in the back as part of the pre-race festivities.
Steve Brown lives in the heart of NASCAR racing, but had never had this level of VIP experience at an event. One of the things he enjoyed was the private pit tour led by Steve Post from MRN Radio, with the incredible insight he has from decades of working with race teams and providing commentary on national events.
Our guests got to watch the racing action from Skybox seats when they weren’t participating in some other part of the festivities. And just like all of the fans at the track that weekend, they were able to stop by the Ford Social booth and make personalize buttons from our badges.
What would your favorite part of this VIP experience be? Want to be the next to get an invite? The first step is to register to become a Ford Social member!
