How Did You End Up Driving Your Ford?
JUN
07

Sometimes you just head to the dealership, pick out the one you like and drive home. Other times, there’s a special story behind how you ended up driving your Ford.

A couple of stories that Ford Social fans have shared with us show that the road to ownership can take quite a few twists and turns. One begins with a tragedy, but ends in a tribute. The other, a tale of sacrifice where a young couple ended up driving not one, but two new Fords.

How did you end up driving your Ford? Is there a good story behind it? Don’t keep it to yourself, share it with the rest of the Ford Social community and keep the conversation going.

Your Stories

My Inheritance

When Timothy B.’s father passed on, his siblings used their inheritance to travel. Instead, he put a down payment on a Ford Mustang convertible, which turned out to be a lasting tribute to his dad.

The Ultimate Sacrifice

Julie B.’s business was growing. So much so that she was in need of a truck, and fast. See how she and her brand-new husband traded in their vehicles and became a Ford couple.

Ford Social Fan Ideas of the Week

Stand Out/New Idea on Lights

Let’s face it, sometimes you just want to show off your ride. This Ford Social fan has an idea that uses customized LED lights to make a bold statement to the world when you start your car. How do you make a statement? Show us your Ford by submitting a photo.

MyFordTouch Dashcam

This Ford Social fan wants to take the concept of vehicle-mounted cameras to the next level. Instead of helping with parking, they would like the ability to record the world around them, just in case the unthinkable happens. Great idea, or a little too “Big Brother?” Vote it up or down

HDMI w/ Sync/MFT Integration

Smartphones can do lots of cool things these days. That’s why this Ford Social user would like to see some more integration between phones and Fords by way of an HDMI cable connection. What kind of pps would you use in your Ford? Tell us by submitting an idea of your own!

Richard Doin My Dad was a ford sales man all his life and work in a small town called Schenectady N.Y. at weber Ford and metro Ford when Ford came out with the Mustang I was insanely a fan at 5 years old and Dad knew it one day he came home with a brand new 289 Hp. Four speed and we went out on a ride I loved that car but they never let him have it as a Demo , :-( But today I do own one and drive it everyday , and now I think of that day now and then , and wonder if it were a Shelby 350

Joey Sipos My Dad made me work for everything and the BIGGEST prize was a 1967 Mustang: delivering newspapers, working on the boardwalk during the summers, and all through college in the cafeteria. It was well worth the effort........Joe from Delaware

B. Menstell My Dad always had Fords, and up to his death he drove a Ford LTD, which he said stood for "Love To Drive". I had a 66 Mustang, and my Dad at the age of 80, would borrow it, pack up his buddies, and take it on fishing trips. Now, please just imagine a hopped up, shiny maroon 1966 Mustang coupe with with 4 little old African American men in it cruising 40 miles to the best fishing hole! Oh to have been privy to their conversations and tall tales! They are all gone now but I will never forget them or my old '66.

JaredH I have been around Mustangs since i was a baby. Being 5 years old and handing my dad wrenches in the garage. When i was younger i remember riding around with my dad in his blue 65 coupe listening to the radio. I remember the backyard being filled with mustangs and wondering which one would be mine when i get that age. Right now we have 4 mustangs in our corral. A white 64.5 convertible, white 65 coupe, white 67 GTA fastback and an "in progress" 67 coupe with a 429 cobra jet. i drive the convertible on weekends listening to the radio with my daughter remembering when i was a kid. We take the car to shows and have a great time together. My dad cant be in the garage anymore due to his conditions so i try my best to get the others running so that hopefully soon he and i can take a nice cruise together like we did when i was younger.
