Ford Social Wishes You Happy Hauling this Memorial Day!

For many of us Memorial Day weekend means the unofficial start to the summer. It’s a time when sunshine and high temperatures means we can bring out all of the warm weather toys for the first time; and nothing says “Happy Memorial Day” like taking the boat up to the lake. But whether you’re a weekend boater or recreational landlubber, you probably have a lot of gear that you have to haul this weekend.

We also know that Ford truck fans love a good towing story, and Ford Social has plenty of them to go around. Take the F-150 owner who put his truck through a multi-state torture test while towing a horse trailer, or the Ford Social fan who calls their F-250 a “Super Awesome Towing Machine.”

There’s plenty of room at Ford Social for more towing stories, so load us up with more by submitting yours today!

Ford trucks love moving big stuff from A to B. As you’re getting your trailer, boat or camper loaded up for the holiday weekend, consider some of the great features offered on F-Series trucks aimed at making your job hauling it a little easier:

  • Trailer Sway Control – Let’s face it, pulling a trailer through a winding mountain pass can be challenging. That’s where the Trailer Sway Control system comes in and helps keep everything on track by selective wheel braking. It can’t break the laws of physics, but it can help provide a smoother tow while keeping the white knuckles off the driver. (Standard on the F-150 & Super Duty®)
  • Integrated Trailer Brake Controller – It’s not fun when your truck stops, but your trailer doesn’t. When you’re towing a heavy load, you need everything working together like a well-oiled hauling (and stopping) machine. The Integrated Brake Controller makes sure your electronically-attenuated trailer brakes are talking to their buddies on your truck so everybody stops at the same time. (Optional on F-150 & Super Duty®)
  • Reverse Camera – You can only do so much with mirrors and a buddy behind you giving hand signals. Good thing there’s an optional reverse camera to help you hook up your gear. (Optional on F-150 & Super Duty®)
  • Productivity Screen with Trailer Profiles –  Gauges are great, but they can only tell you one thing at a time. Say hello to an LCD productivity screen that can be programmed to display anything from your fuel economy to different towing applications. (Optional on F-150 & Super Duty®)

Heading somewhere fun with the family this weekend? Tell us about it by submitting a story, or a few photos! Otherwise, safe travels and happy hauling!

Brad B Hey Ford ! It's been awhile, other duties to attend to in the life of a horse rancher. I get e-mail alerts about new station wagons/vans. One of those was about the prospect B-Max coming across the Atlantic. But the best report was about the Transit Courier. Talk about one home-run hit after another. The new Transit Connect, C-Max (we own a C-Max named Herbie) and the new full sized Transit van. Ford literally has taken back the name ..... Wagon Master. By the way, as a long term member of the Ford Social Group, Keeper of the Flame, Defender of all things Wagon/Van I'd sure love to own a Transit Tourneo Courier for our ranch. I love the C-Max by the way, it's the car I wished I could have gotten four years ago. My routine mpg hovers around 46 to 49 mpg with a top score of 52.3 on a trip to Wilmington NC. Top marks to Ford's Hybrid Team !

Rod Timms I'm disappointed with the direction this site has taken - it was once a source for hard news about new and exciting Ford products, but has now become nothing more than another social interaction site for unimaginative conversation. So sad!
