Comic Book Hero Plus Famous Car Builder Equal One Wild Ford F-150

There’s building a wild truck and then there’s building a wild truck! Check out this unique Ford F-150 that was the brainchild of Galpin Auto Sports and Barris Kustom Industries. Called the Crime Fighter Ford F-150 Edition, it was built in just eight weeks!

First, a bit of backstory. Do you know the name George Barris? He’s a legendary vehicle customizer, whose creations have appeared in loads of TV shows and movies. Sometimes kooky, sometimes over-the-top, sometimes simple yet memorable  – they are always flat-out cool. In fact, George is being inducted into the SEMA Hall of Fame later this year for his accomplishments in creating such memorable cars.

Jared Barris, George’s grandson, designed his own version of one of his grandad’s most famous vehicle. The Crime Fighter Ford F-150 has an inspired style but tells its own unique tale about what a modern-day superhero’s crime fighting vehicle could look like. Among the modifications made by Galpin Auto Sports and Barris Kustom Industries are a special mesh grille with a red aluminum accent and hand-shaped 18-gauge steel wings for side rails. Dual exhaust, a lowering kit, aftermarket wheels and tires, front and side fascia and a special hood are among the other eye-grabbing features. Unlike most of George’s creations, steel was utilized more often than fiberglass to create the custom shapes on the vehicle. And one more notable touch: the floor mats sport the coveted Barris Kustom Crest insignia.

So what makes your Ford a superhero’s vehicle of choice? Its safety equipment? Super fuel economy? SYNC® technology? Maybe the super design? Tell us!
