When you turn on the evening news, it can be challenging to remember that there are actually good things happening in our world. Walking among us – and sometimes as anonymously as they can possibly be – are people who volunteer their time, heart and skills to make that aforementioned world a better place to live.
The Good Works program introduces us to exactly these kinds of warm spirits, who are improving their community. Not to mention that they are Ford truck owners. Professional Bull Riders celebrity and the host of Good Works, Brendon Clark, travels across the country looking for those who are helping others and giving of themselves selflessly.
The videos in the Good Works series can be seen on the Good Works website. Someone who touched us with an act of kindness was Dan Foster, who wanted to thank our men and women in uniform for their service. As a Vietnam vet himself, he wanted to pay special tribute to them and created a wall of honor – but it’s not a memorial. It’s a wall that honors these heroes.
And also know that Ford is giving away a 2014 F-150 and $25,000 donation to charity through the Rider Relief Fund. You can learn how to enter here. A Ford F-150 with EcoBoost® and a VIP trip for two to the Built Ford Tough Series PBR World Finals seems like a win for you, but it’s a win for charity as well. You can donate to the Rider Relief Fund, which supports bull riders who have sustained injuries, or to the charity of your choice.
We know inspiration can also be found through Ford Social fans, so if you’re a Ford fan who uses your vehicle to volunteer, submit your story here.
