Bring Back Mercury

Bring back a full size rear drive Mercury, limited production in both 2 door and 4 door and call it the Park Lane. Give it the signature round headlights, the horizontal grille of the late 60’s, chrome rockers of course, and let the consumer pick the options. Don’t pre-package the car in strippo or loaded, nor give it the goofy GS or LS name. Also do not allow rental companies to buy the vehicle, as it will depress values later on. Offer the car as a limited run model, and in more than just 7 colors. And keep the car out of a Lincoln showroom. To save Lincoln, you killed Mercury, now give the car a chance to stand on its own in a Ford showroom. The loyal Grand Marquis buyer like myself will easily buy the car. Not all of us dream about nor want a truck, suv, or a crossover. Some of us actually like rear wheel drive large cars.

Ingo B I enjoyed the 1986 Grand Marquis and I love to spend money on a car that offers me the classic American features: rear wheel drive, six seat split bench, no center console, soft ride, V8 engine, steering column gearshift. I mean there has to be a car that is 100% rejection of European and Asian stanards and genuinely represents the American way of driving.

Yuri Zhivago bring back the capri while your at it, a throback car to the 1991-1994 model. America needs a top of the line domestic roadster! The styling and drivetrain could be updated, and youd have a real head turner!
