Ford, Awards and Scores of Hot Cars

Today’s headlines among the automotive press could read “Ford Scores Another First,” as it became the first manufacturer to win the SEMA Awards for Top Car (Mustang) and Top Truck (F-150) in the same year. It was a big opening for the Ford as they showed how committed they are toward their small cars, large trucks and to racing.

Inside the convention center with 70 one-of-a-kind vehicles on display, Ford showcased everything from the classics of the 1930’s to the twists on present day models. Amazingly, the latest Ford licensed restoration parts delighted fans of the classic 1964-1966 Mustang and now the 1940 coupe.

Ford Mustang and customization go hand-in-hand. Ford launched the Mustang Customizer at www.mustangcustomizer.com. It’s a site offering an online experience that allows users to create their own virtual Mustangs. Several Mustangs are on display to show how customizable the pony car is.

Ford trucks and SUVs are known for their capability. Ford Explorer SUVs and F-Series trucks are on display, showing off the extreme versatility of their lineups.

The Unique Dream Garage showcases the creative possibilities offered by Ford through a new website – www.MyFordGarage.com – designed to help enthusiasts make dream garages for their Ford vehicles a reality.

Ford at the 2012 SEMA Show

Ford out Front, located at the center of the Las Vegas Convention Center parking lot, is back for its third year with four days of rubber burning driving action on the 110,000 square foot ride and drive demonstration course. Showcased around the track are some of the most legendary cars in the 110-year racing history of Ford.

The new Ford Focus is making its SEMA show debut with seven customized cars that showcase the possibilities. Offering just about anything a customer could want to boost the performance and personalization of the car. These Focus models show off a wide variety of upgrades and enhancements.

Patrick W I think the Mach 40 would be an excellent inspiration/model/starting point for the design of the next-gen Mustang. Mainly I hope the designers respect the iconic presentation of the front end (main headlamps outside grillwork, GT extra lights in grillwork) and back end (clearly recognizable 3-segment tail lamps).
