The Ford Escape is Fighting Hunger, and You Can Help

Often it’s the simplest actions that can change the world. So, on the surface, we have a concept that may sound relatively simple, but its effects will be life-changing for many in need: Drive an all-new Ford Escape, and you can help those fighting hunger.

You may at first wonder what the correlation is between a vehicle and a worthy cause, but Ford has a history of melding transportation with hunger relief; it’s just one of the many ways the Blue Oval™ has supported the community throughout its history. For this effort, Ford is working with the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization, Feeding America,® for the 2013 Ford Escape Hunger Drive.

Events will take place in many locations across the U.S., and participants will host events where guests can drive, walk around or ride in the Escape. In turn, Ford will provide 40 meals per guest to people at risk of hunger. More than 1.2 million meals total are projected to be provided.

These drive-for-charity events could take place anywhere within a supporter’s community. An event could be tied to already-scheduled events at churches, community centers or other civic organizations. Participants in the hunger drive will receive a Ford backpack and automatic entry into a sweepstakes. (Must be 18 years or older. No purchase or test drive necessary to enter. Void where prohibited. Official Sweepstakes Rules — including eligibility, prize details and entry conditions — will be provided with event confirmation.)

Those interested in organizing an event can find information at www.escapehungerdrive.com. Event organizers will be supported by Ford, which will provide an all-new Escape for use in the event, along with an expert to explain the attributes of the new sport utility vehicle.

Ford, working with Newman’s Own, has already provided 103 Ford refrigerated trucks to Feeding America affiliates through an 11-year initiative called Partnership for Hunger Relief. The fleet has delivered more than 176 million meals to families throughout all 50 states.

Mr. H Its pure marketing BS. Ford is in the hunger game for sales. As long as the Ford logo is there, people will think that Ford actually cares..they dont!
