What’s Your Ford Story?

Since you’re visiting this web site, we’re willing to bet that you have a personal story that relates to Ford.  How you’ve only ever owned Ford cars. Or you’ve bought the other guy’s brand for 20 years and finally gave Ford a try, and now you know what you’ve been missing. Or maybe Ford has influenced your life a different way, through the many philanthropic programs that the company supports.

Whatever it is, we want to hear your story and give you a place to share it. It’s easy to do in our Your Stories section.

Here are snippets of just three of the hundreds of stories that have already been shared:

My First Ford Is My Best Truck

My First Ford Is My Best Truck

I’ve now owned my F-150 FX4 for just over a year and I couldn’t be happier with it. I’ve always been a GM guy, but after a lot of research and comparison, I concluded that Ford had the things I needed on a truck. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. Read more…

Vacationing With Our Edge

Vacationing With Our Edge

My husband and I went on an anniversary trip to Surfside, WA. While there we would walk along the beach noticing that several cars would be driving up and down the very deep and wide beaches there. So we decided to take our Ford Edge out there and have some fun. This picture was taken in front of a lighthouse there along the beach at dusk and we thought the picture was so good we wanted to share it with all of you. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Ridiculously Happy

Ridiculously Happy

Every morning when I open my door and face my garage I see a 66 Fastback Mustang and a 2011 GT younger brother. I simply cannot refrain a laugh of pure joy. I am very thankful to Ford for this.

Sherrie Petkus I drove the very first Lincoln Diamond Jubilee to come off the line. I was working as a chauffeur/VIP mail courier for the 12th floor staff at World Headquarters. Went a-l-l the w-a-y out to the Wixom plant (country!) to pick it up. Now I live in Wixom, LOL! Sherrie Petkus Otherwise known as: The Smiling Mail Courier

Ted R Nelson I have owned Fords for over 60 years, always at least one Ford in my driveway. My current 2002 Ford needs replacing (I use to buy a new one every two years or more often) and because Ford does not offer a manual transmisson in the Explorer or F-150 very shortly there will not be a Ford in my driveway. A sad day. Ted

Barry Hitt After 40 years of customer loyalty, Ford is telling me that they no longer need my business. I have had six Rangers and a Sport Trac over the years and now they think that they can make me buy a F-150. WRONG! Thanks for nothing, Ford.

rl You know, I have bled Blue Oval since the day I was born. My father was a race mechanic and has only ever owned or worked on Ford products. Recently my personal vehicle reached its final fatal wound. In this case it is a 99 Wagon with 225k on the odometer. I put a motor in it at 120k, but otherwise, there have been zero mechanical failures. Now here is the tragedy. I have really racked my brain trying to find a vehicle that will replace a 12 year old well loved 3rd row seat vehicle without buying something that weighs 8000 pounds and gets better then 20-25 MPG. Maybe I am the only guy on the planet that cares, but it seems a little silly that the only real offering from Ford is the Expedition or Excursion with 3 rows and then you still dont have much storage space and you will NEVER get over 10-14 MPG even with a tail wind. Very disapointing to a long time wagon owner. Yes we have looked at the Edge, Flex, Freestyle, Taurus X, but nothing in the current Ford lineup comes close to replacing the beloved Tuarus Wagon. My wife is actually starting to look seriously at the Expeditions, which would be wonderful, but I WILL NEVER drive a vehicle that gets 12 miles to the gallon. The OPEC conspiracy depends entirely on the stupidity of Americans continuing to buy $3 gas and continuing to purchase 8000 lb vehicles. I for one and through with the nonsense. We are currently looking at a Volvo wagon because it has encredible mileage (30-35) good power (i5 Turbo has 300+) and only weights in at 4500. Which is still rediculous in my opinion, but I geuss you have to draw the line somewhere. Anyways. My beloved Ford has finally failed me. I will be purchasing a Swedish car and breaking my life long promise to never buy anything but Ford's. At least Ford owns Volvo, which is certainly not the same thing, but It is justification enough for me... Always will love Ford, but this time around, they have missed the target for this one Blue Oval fan.

Angie Britton The first car I bought was a Ford Escort, then a couple years later another Ford Escort. 3rd was a Ford Ranger truck (had a jeep next), 5th car was a Ford Taurus (drove for about 7 years), 6th was a Ford Escape that I ordered new from a dealer and no my 7th car is a Ford Edge!!!! I love my Fords!

Brian Gray started with a 1999 escort zx2 when i was 16, but then it was totaled when i was t-boned by an illegal immigrant. i then purchased a 1996 probe gt but that ended up being too much of a money pit. after the probe i got a 2002 focus zx3 and loved it! but unfortunately i was rear ended by someone of their cell phone and it was totaled, with only 50,000 miles on it! since i loved my 02 focus so much i got a 2001 focus zx3 after that with only 29,000 miles and still have it, and love it!

Terry Corcoran 10 years ago, I bought a 2002 Ford Escape with 105,000 miles on it for $5k. still have it with 175k on it. It runs like the day I bought it. Oil was changed every6k, with filters every 3k. Maybe that's the secret. Car had a new re-built tranny at 105k. fluid is flushed every 50k. Three sets of tires. 'Til death do us part.....

George Schmidt I had had Ford Product most of my life. The most challenging project was a 1958 Mercury Parklane. It had sat for 22 years before I found it with a host of problem. The original 430 engine was stuck and had be rebuilt, the body had seen better days. It took 8 years to get her back into shape and now She's a fun ride.

sam My first Ford, came home one day the wife said she had bought a car for me, its at her brothers place, he said its around the back , it was, all around the back yard. So like a good hubby with no car knowledge i put it back together & fix it up (1986 Ford Falcon GHIA) it ran sweet. Couple months later she sold it, many more faithful Fords followed after.

Ron Metts My first car (got it at 17) was an 87 Thunderbird. I got it in 91 or so. It had 82000 miles on it at the time. 3.8 v6. I got 213,000 miles on it *total miles* and the head gasket blew. Rebuilt the engine and finally had to park it around 340,000 miles because the front seal in the transmission was leaking and a girlfriend tore it up (ran out of fluid) while I was out of town and couldn't afford a tranny. MANY good memories in that car. I miss it. Also had a 81 ford Escort with over 200,000 miles on it, and a Mercury Grand Marquis (basically a ford) with somewhere close to 500,000 miles on it. (with no major engine work) I am estimating the mileage because the odometer quit registering around 214,000.

Mary Ellen Marcy When my mother mustered out of the Marine Corps at the end of WWII she purchased a Ford Jeep from Navy Surplus. She didn't know how to drive but soon learned. It was our first Ford and our family has remained faithful to FoMoCo ever since. In 1957 she drove a Ford Fairlaine 500 6cyl in the Mobilgas economy run. That led to my first car in 1965 being a 57 Fairlane 500 V8. And the Fords just keep coming and coming.

Malachi Smith We've had 2 Fords, a '94 Taurus GL, and our current '97 Town Car Signature Series. My grandma got the Taurus back in '03 for $800 and it had 192K miles. Like-new, with light evergreen metallic paint, with a dark green interior, with the optional (and surprisingly rare on the GL) center console. It was a great car, and it'd probably be MY car now if the motor mounts hadn't broken in '04. Too bad too, it would've been a cheap fix if someone had caught it before they broke. And I found my grandma the '97 Town Car 3 months ago for $3200, it's powder blue with a tan interior, with only 107K miles! It's by far the coolest car she's ever had. Fastest, too. Yet surprisingly it gets pretty good gas mileage for such a boat of a car!

Gary Jones I am the original owner of a 95 Lightning. I found it on the back lot of the Ford dealership where I worked at the time. It had been vandalized while on the from row and moved behind the body shop and forgotten. I stumbled upon it accidentally, 7 months later and bought it. Last of the Gen 1's.

Steven Alsobrooks My family got our first Ford when I was 9. Dad always drove whatever did the job for the least money, but since we had taken up camping, he decided to trade his '92 Dodge Dakota for a better tow vehicle. He had already picked out a brand new dark blue 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 at the local Dodge dealer, but one day he just happened to be driving by (what was then) Dick Leonard Ford and saw a Harvest Gold 1999 F-150 extended cab.Basically the same truck as the Dodge, but with a bigger engine (5.4 Triton). It was the last new 1999 pickup they had on the lot, so they made Dad a really good deal. That truck to this day still hasn't seen the inside of a repair shop for anything other than scheduled maintainance. After Dad decided how much he liked his F-150, he bought Mom a used 2003 Taurus SES in 2004 to save miles on her 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan. Mom liked the Taurus so much that her van didn't move for months. I still remember seeing cobwebs between the tires and the garage floor on it. My grandpa took notcie of the Fords too, and in 2005, after having driven a Chevy for almost 35 years, Grandpa bought Dad's '99. Dad then traded the Dodge van for the truck I drive now, 2005 F-150 Lariat SuperCrew 4x4. After I get out of college, I want to trade my gas-saver ('08 Chrysler Sebring, it was free) for a 50th Anniversary Mustang. Best-built cars (and trucks) on the road!

Kevin Tullock My Great Great Grandfather "William Tullock" was the best friend of Henry Ford, they worked together in a factory in cleveland. They decided to go into business together to build a Motor Car. My Grandfather wanted to build a luxury car and Henry wanted to build a car for the people. Each decided to try their own Idea and the rest as they say is history. They remained good friends and kept in touch. My family ended up running a Ford Dealership in 1912 on the Orkney Islands Scotland and is the Oldest independent main Ford dealer in Europe and is still selling Fords to this day. As you can imagine my Family lives and breathes Ford. Top That!

Ellen Hult Our Fords had names. First there was Bret Maverick. Then my sister had one of the huge 70's style Fords she named Betty. Betty got T-boned by a semi, and in any other car, my sister would have been killed. Now we have Harrison Ford (a Contour), which we're about to retire, and are currently in the market for a new Ford, so we need a great new name!! Any suggestions??

Mike Trefry My dad had always loved fords, but at 450lbs, he wasn't exactly gonna fit in a mustang or anything sporty. He always had either a Crown Vic, or a Grand Marquis. He passed in 99, but had a 80's Crown Vic that was engulfed in rust. I loved the thing even though it didn't run. I had several Mercurys since he passed, one being a very rare ASC Mclaren Capri Convertible. Sadly that is now gone. But In 2010, I found a 1988 Grand Marquis in exelent condition and picked it up for $1500. Even though I didn't need it. I love the car and hope to never sell it.
