From Driving Blind to a Motorsports Announcement, It’s Been a Busy Week

That’s right, we said driving blind. In addition to giving people a thrill they probably never thought would be possible, Ford engineers were able to learn from the experience as well. The Octane Academy was introduced this week as a new way that Ford is helping you buddy up to your favorite Ford action motorsports driver. Finally, Ford introduced a beta program of Operator Assist for registered users of SYNC® service.

I bought my first Ford Fusion in December 2006. After 3 car accidents, it never let me down. It continued to run like a top notch car and never once gave me problems. In June 2011, I recieved a letter stating that the dealership would like to buy my car back. So I called made an appointment and thought “yea right, they would never let me get a new car”. As I go into the dealership, I just thought that they would just see what they could do and then I would be going home in my 2007 but to my surprise, I was able to get a brand new 2011 Ford Fusion SE. Using the high powered fuel efficient V6 that is in the mustang add a hybrid drive train. I think with the full torque performance of an electric motor you would have a fuel efficient truck with high towing capacity.  Read more…

Ford is beta-testing a new feature called Operator Assist, which will make getting directions or finding a business a snap through SYNC® Services.
