Available adaptive cruise control is radar enabled cruise control that allows you to choose one of three pre-set gaps between your Taurus and the car in front of you. When sensors detect traffic slowing, or if a vehicle pulls in front of you, your vehicle slows down to maintain your minimum distance. When the system detects that traffic has cleared, your vehicle resumes your preset speed.

This technology works in conjunction with adaptive cruise control, and it helps in case an accident appears imminent.
