If you’ve already watched the videos of Ford Taurus engineers strapping themselves for what they thought would be a “casual drive” but turned into a surprise ride with NASCAR® race-car driver Carl Edwards in the all-new 2013 Taurus, then we bet you have plenty of questions! If you haven’t yet checked out the fun videos, click here.
As Carl and the engineers discussed and demonstrated the capabilities and technology while taking laps in the new Ford at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA, it was your chance to be a fly on the windshield and experience the drive, too! Beyond the rare opportunity to ride along with Carl, you could also see the car’s performance in action.
And so at 8:30 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, we invite you to join Carl as well as Mazen Hammoud, Taurus Ecoboost® Calibration Manager; Omar Conteh, Ford Fuel Efficiency Engineer, and Jennifer Brace, Ford User Interface Engineer, right here for a live chat about the new Taurus, its features, improved fuel economy and that mind-blowing performance!
The new Taurus has a choice of new engines, including the 2.0-liter EcoBoost; it is the first Ford car in North America to have this engine. It’s anticipated to deliver an estimated 240 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque, with an EPA-estimated highway fuel economy of at least 31 mpg. The car also has advanced technology offerings, such as SYNC® with MyFord Touch®, active park assist, collision warning with brake support and much more.
