What’s Your Favorite Feature on the 2013 Ford Fusion?

At the beginning of the year, we brought you the first official glimpse of the new 2013 Ford Fusion (First Look at the 2013 Ford Fusion), but we know many of you are eager to learn more details about it. So we jumped at the chance to have Ford Fusion Marketing Manager, Samantha Hoyt, give us a tour of the new Fusion at the 2012 New York International Auto Show!

The 2013 Ford Fusion will give customers the power of choice with the widest-ever portfolio of fuel-efficient powertrains ever offer in the Fusion, including EcoBoost®, hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines; automatic and manual transmission offerings; and auto start stop technology.  In fact, the new Fusion is the first sedan to offer gasoline, hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, each with expected top fuel economy, underscoring the company’s commitment to give customers the power of choice.

The new Fusion with the new 1.6-liter EcoBoost will also be the first non-hybrid midsize sedan available with an Auto Start-Stop System. When the Fusion comes to a stop, the engine can automatically switch off, consuming no gasoline and emitting no exhaust gases. As soon as the driver releases the brake pedal, the engine seamlessly re-starts and the car is ready to go by the time the driver presses the accelerator pedal. You can read more about this new Ford system by clicking here.

The new car is flush with more than just powertrain options. With seven must-have technologies, including a Lane Keeping System, adaptive cruise control, active park assist and MyFord Touch®, the all-new Ford Fusion shows how Ford is delivering features customers truly want and value.

Visit ford.com for more information about the 2013 Ford Fusion.

Kevin I'm looking forward to the Energi plug-in hybrid. Electric vehicle for short trips but range for when you need it. Just hope the price is not too high.
1 year(s) ago via
Jeff T Why can you not get the Push to Start technology on the 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid? Keys should be things of the past! I like a car that seems to know it is me and unlocks the doors for me and all I have to do is push a button to start it.
2 year(s) ago via
JJMJRDEC J does the drivers seat come up high enough to have a better view, seems like older models keep driver to low.
2 year(s) ago via
George F I love that you can get all of the technologie features such as ,Lane Keeping System, to help the driver maintain proper lane position, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®), which helps to detect traffic in the driver’s blind spot and send an alert, Active Park Assist, to aid in parallel parking, and Adaptive Cruise Control, which utilizes radar to slow the vehicle when it detects slower traffic ahead without getting a moonroof ,or 12 speaker stereo and spoiler . I want safty and technologie systems .

Rachel T The fall is coming up quick and they keep saying that it is coming out Fall 2012...I'm starting to wonder if the Fusion is really coming out soon :( hope Ford isnt having issues with it! So excited to be able to drive it and see if it is as good as they say!
2 year(s) ago via
Disappointed Would consider purchasing one but its not available (interior colors and engine options) as I would want it - as usual the companies force you into packages they wasnt to sell not as you would want one :( Back to Nissan

Ron People are carping about the absence of a V6. It's my understanding that the 2L turbo may give the same kind of torque figures as a 3L V6 without sacrificing much of the overall fuel economy of the 4 -- best of both worlds if it's as advertised. Many other brands are dropping their V6 options, and I wonder if you'll see any at all in the "family sedan" segment a few years from now.
2 year(s) ago via
Nestor R These new Fusions are made along side the Mustangs at the Flat Rock plant, I'm not sure how recent it was, but I know they're not all made in Mexico anymore.
2 year(s) ago via
Colin Daniels are all fusions made in mexico?????

Ford Fan No V6 so forget it thats a city car. i want a V6 but it looks really nice. Oh yeah i want a rear bumper that flat bumper with the trunk is dumb more to fix if you get hit from the rear. needs a bumper to stick out.

Jim M This car has what it takes to overtake the Camery except maybe a V6 engine. We'll see.
2 year(s) ago via
Paul A Worst spokesperson ever. She all but called it pretty.... - Despite the video, I'm looking forward to this. I hope that it has performance that matches it's looks. Sexy sheet-metal is nice, but it has to excite and take a corner with authority. I'm hopeful that Ford will nail it.
2 year(s) ago via
Ben I really like the idea of a turbocharged engine. The performance possibilities are high in that regard. I'm even considering trading my '08 Fusion as soon as these hit my local dealer.
2 year(s) ago via
The fact a mamual transmission will be available, especially not on just a base model, but one that can be nicely equipped
2 year(s) ago via
T C The 2013 Fusion is a nice car but what is missing is a V6 engine. I hope Ford will consider a V6 for the 2014 model.
2 year(s) ago via
Tim D Like the looks, interior space, options, and LOVE the hybrid Energi.
2 year(s) ago via
Kellie W Awesome look and design. I like the fuel efficiency options as well.
2 year(s) ago via
James J THe new exterior for sure. Looks like a Bentley without the outrageous price.
2 year(s) ago via
nvonstaden nice design...just need that HP V6 that you put in the Mustang...its get over 30MPG why not? and coupled to your 6 speed with paddle shifters? sweet.....
2 year(s) ago via
Robert S Why not hot engines? Will there be a Fusion that has some serious get up and go?
2 year(s) ago via
Jon D The best feature of the new Focus is the design. The distinctive grille design and overall shape is wonderful. I would like to see an expanded line up including a Sport Wagon.
2 year(s) ago via
AAC best feature (thus mentioned) are the good looks and the 6-speed manual with 30+ mpgs! please give the 1.6L EcoBoost some juice for the Fusion! A manual for the 2.0L EcoBoost down the road wouldnt hurt...
2 year(s) ago via
Cliff M I like the good looks, and the eco boost best of all I love the fact it is created by free enterprise. From a long line of great looking, high performance automobiles and trucks.
2 year(s) ago via
Ford has done it again. The overall lines are overwhelming. Congrats Ford. Another automotive innovation!
2 year(s) ago via
t Why does the redesigned fusion have a roofline that interferes with back seat headroom, when it's predecesor had the same problem? It's a family mid-size sedan, I don't understand the thought process behind that. The back seat needs to be as comfortable and spacious as the front. If the roofline was redesigned to address the current models problem, why is the same problem present? Although I have heard of this from many auto show videos, I am still impressed with ford as far their other models go.
2 year(s) ago via
Jerry D This is one sleek car. Can't wait to get one and get behind the wheel. Looks like it could take off.
2 year(s) ago via
Brad B Hey Ford ! Bond, James Bond - Silver SEL ..................... James Bond Edition, don't forget the ejector seat.
2 year(s) ago via
Clifford M I agree with Ron B. I think that Ford should offer a turbo diesel in a Fiesta sized car that will achieve fuel mileage in the area of 70 MPG. I am sick of vehicle companies trying to sell a "fuel efficient" vehicle that boasts something in the area of 36 MPG, whether it is a normal size or the size of a bread box. My 2003 Taurus gets 30 MPG. I want something that gets 70MPG and is affordable to buy. The Smart Car gets 70 MPG, but the only people who can afford to buy it are those who can buy fuel at any price. With the price of fuel going up by the minute because the overtly greedy fuel industry doesn't care about anything but how much MORE profit they can squeeze out of people, we need a vehicle that will be affordable to drive. Electric and hybrids are expensive to buy, maintain, and probably to charge if I am going to have to plug it into my power outlet. After the power company generates enough power to charge a car, I'll even bet that there is a Bigger carbon footprint. Lets keep this simple. A small, light, 70+ MPG diesel that is affordable!
2 year(s) ago via
Yves Gotta love hybrid and plug-in hybrid power trains, Toyota Camry Hybrid be aware :-D
2 year(s) ago via
Ron B It would be even better if you offer the European diesel enging in the new 2013 Fusion. There are a lot of people who want to drive diesels, but have to go with European makes. I want to drive American, please offer a sedan with a diesel engine.
2 year(s) ago via
One Giant Media wow that grill is way cool, the whole front end reminds me of a cross between maserati and audi, doesnt seem like traditional ford design, but pretty cool!
2 year(s) ago via
Dave This car is the same as my European Ford Mondeo. Very nice car. Hope it will retain the ride and performance.
2 year(s) ago via
Its an Aston for the cheap man...perfect!
2 year(s) ago via
Chris L Love the new look of the Fusion. The Hybrid version is an excellent value considering today's price of gas
2 year(s) ago via
Bryan R This car is beautiful! Will be replacing my 2010 Ford Escape with one of these! :)
2 year(s) ago via
martha I wish the 2013 Fusion came out on August, but I have heard it will be late September. I have to turn in my lease in July 12 to the Toyota dealer. I am will to wail for few month, but late september. I do not know, if i can be without a car
2 year(s) ago via
Jim Segura Jim S The 2013 Fusion looks good except for the new grille. I think it's a step backwards. I heard the MyFordTouch is difficult to work with. I hope it's been improved.
2 year(s) ago via
Angel B Can you bring to north america the Ford Falcon xr6 turbo and xr8/gt that is sold in australia? I personally love the exhaust sounds, looks, roomy interior and overall vehicle would be a hit as a daily driver, performance/tuner vehicle in the u.s. as well..

Michael Kentucky When will Ford come out with a Fusion that will offer Compressed Natural Gas plus a 2 gallon gas tank?
2 year(s) ago via
Larry F I like just about everything...looks, technology and its'globalness'
2 year(s) ago via
Michael J Please Ford! Can you please bring North America a Fusion wagon? SUV/CUVs are not for everyone and would love to buy another Ford product, but may be forced into the hands of a european manufacturer.
2 year(s) ago via
Gracie Love the look of the Fusion, but the front seats are horrible on your lower back. Rode in one for an hour+ and my back was killing me. There are only two ports for technical device charging; which means if you use this car for business get ready to constantly be unplugging printers, laptops, etc. Why in the world in the age of technology would anyone want a vehicle that does not have several charging ports. I so wanted to buy this car, but these two things were a deal breaker. The car is super nice looking for it's size, but needs interior improvements for me.
2 year(s) ago via
Creigh I'd like to see the European wagon version of this in the states. My Sable wagon is twelve years old, and I'm getting impatient for another Ford wagon.
2 year(s) ago via
Juston P The best thing about the new Fusion is the exterior styling... All of these foreign manufactures are going for more modern, one piece looking designs. They have caught my eye. I'm often saying what is that and then I pull up closes and its a kia, etc... I'm a Ford guy but honestly I've been tempted to go test drive other vehicles recently... This Fusion will put Ford back on the map, now if they can only bring us a tough little compact truck for home owners, teenagers, and guys who imagine getting over 30mpg's due to having a 2.0 EcoBoost under the hood of a 2,300 lbs mini truck, AWD...
2 year(s) ago via
Robert P I miss the Crown Victora I wish ford would have updated it. But I still love ford. I am just not ready for any change at this time.
2 year(s) ago via
Doc C where is the Sport or ST version?????
2 year(s) ago via
Patrick C I sure hope the new Fusion come out without any problem issues.. LOVE the new design, but nerveous about repair record. Hope it comes in with a stellar rock solid well tested track record.
2 year(s) ago via
bryan l looks like a volvo inspired design.
2 year(s) ago via
Ron T No V-6 option. I'm not sold on tiny 4 cylinder engines with direct injection and turbo charging . There's no replacement for displacement. I love the combination of power and economy on my 2011 3.0 V-6 Fusion SEL - 22-23 in town and 29-31 on the highway - great, great car.
2 year(s) ago via
earl jarrell they look good im just not to crazy about hybrid thing. but i like old school v8 s that rumbling sound they make. an when you can get 34mpg from a performance v8 i dont feel the need to change.love my mustang and would buy 5 more if had the oppertunity

Miguel A. Alarcon @Jason Willis Let me tell you the facts the St.Thomas Assembly has won quality awards and even earned gold for JD Power and Associates for quality control, so when.it.comes in time of decision for Mazda to decide when it comes to a higher Japanese yen and if that happends then the Flatrock plant will be closed and production of products that are built in Flatrock then Ford reopens the St.Thomas Assembly plant and the products that Flatrock built are.sent to Canada. THAT MEANS IF MAZDA SEES STONGER JAPANESE YEN THAT MEANS THAT FUSION IS GOING TO HAVE THE MADE IN CANADA LABEL AND ITS GOING TO BE BUILT @Jason Willis Let me tell you the facts the St.Thomas Assembly has won quality awards and even earned gold for JD Power and Associates for quality control, so when.it.comes in time of decision for Mazda to decide when it comes to a higher Japanese yen and if that happends then the Flatrock plant will be closed and production of products that are built in Flatrock then Ford reopens the St.Thomas Assembly plant and the products that Flatrock built are.sent to Canada. THAT MEANS IF MAZDA SEES STONGER JAPANESE YEN THAT MEANS THAT FUSION IS GOING TO HAVE THE MADE IN CANADA LABEL AND ITS GOING TO BE BUILT AT THE SAME PLACE.WHERE THE CROWN.VICTORIA WAS BUILT. THAT.MEANS YOUR MUSTANG,FUSION AND LINCOLN MKZ WILL HAVE.THE MADE.IN CANADA LABEL
2 year(s) ago via Facebook
Miguel A. Alarcon @Eddie Lamb its more likely to be Made in Canada instead in USA in a place called St.Thomas !
2 year(s) ago via Facebook
Miguel A. Alarcon @Jason Willis if Ford willing to do better relations with Mazda it will carry the Made in Canada label instead of the Made in USA label besides Flatrock is Ford's garbage and St.Thomas is Ford's most profitable facility, killing jobs in Flatrock, Michigan and reopening the St.Thomas Plant is called Ford's perfect plan to have better relations with Mazda. Ford killing American jobs and reopening a plant to send the jobs that are done in Flatrock to Canada is called perfection to Mazda's point of view.

However...after seeing and reading about the 2013, I believe I pulled the trigger just a few months too soon. What a great looking car! And, there are several good powertrain options. If I can swing it, I may have to trade in my '12 for a new one!
