The U.S. Leg of Fiesta World Tour 2010 Comes to an End
SEP
07

Thirteen days, 3,200 miles and 22 U.S. states (plus two Canadian provinces) after leaving Los Angeles, the Fiesta World Tour 2010 has reached the Atlantic. And the group got there just a matter of hours before Hurricane Earl was due to batter the Eastern seaboard.

The impending arrival of the huge storm meant making Boston little more than an overnight pit stop. Not so short that the crew did not grab a great seafood meal at the Hotel Marlowe. Some things are not worth risking harsh weather for.

This brings to a close the U.S. portion of the Fiesta World Tour 2010. This first leg of the circumnavigation is the longest in any one country. Even Australia will be bisected in less miles. From the Pacific the tour has taken in beaches, desert, canyons, crossed the Mississippi, mountains and finally came to a close at the Atlantic ocean. Cities visited include Los Angeles, Phoenix, Dallas, Nashville, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Montreal, Boston and New York City.

The first sight of the Atlantic for this expedition came on the NJ shore. West of New York City, which is considered by many the best view of the Statue of Liberty and the city of Manhattan. The sight of the second ocean on this trip was magical. Ahead of Earl, the Atlantic was shiny sand sublime.

The Mexican-made Fiestas driven across the U.S. will remain in New York as the Fiesta World Tour heads east to Ireland. We got rolling again on a second continent on September 6.

For now, enjoy the photo documentary of our trip across this grand country!

kevin I Like the looks of the fiesta, but how would it stack up to my 1998 escort sport with 325,000 original miles in top notch condition. I previously contacted ford one year ago when it turned 300,000 miles...and still going strong. the lowest cost of ownership of any vehicle I've ever owned. I commented that it should be in your museum...by the way,.Have I set a new record for the most miles on a 2.0 liter escort? I'd love to share my story, and am sold on Ford vehicles.

Ford Fiesta and Figo are the models you have designed for mid-level customers but there is some secret i want to share to increase the sales of both in India as here in our country , Performance is needed in segment of above 9lac range and under this that's where Figo is considered , it is packed with 1.4L engine under its hood so lead to lower mileage economy but in this segment its the concern of every customer and in Fiesta mileage is good on mileage but lacks performance with just 1.5D , . So, Summary of the idea: If possible, design the engines of both the cars as Figo needs economy and Fiesta requires performance as Fiesta contains a large number of advanced features so by upgrading the engine may become the hot best selling of the segment and some price correction is also required and using smaller engine with higher mileage will lead to increase in sales most probably. Thanking You.
