Ask Ford
Q.

Will you reconsider the introduction of the Grand C-Max to the North American Market? We need an alternative to the Mazda5.

A.

Fair question, indeed. Right now our plan is to launch hybrid versions of the C-MAX later this year, with an eye on maximum fuel economy in a two-row people mover. As we look down the road, though, we recognize the potential opportunity for a compact three-row vehicle. We can’t do everything at once and have to make tough business decisions. So no plans yet, but I think it’s fair to say that we will continually reassess our product line for North America and, if we can affordably deliver the product in a way that makes business sense, we will.

Scooter S There is no doubt in my mind that if the GC-Max is available I will be one of the first buyers. A perfect place for the diesels to debut.

Brad B Hey Ford ! I too like the Grand C-Max, but believe it or not I really don't want the third row seating. I'd rather have the storage space with a nice deck/cover to act as a trunk when needed. Make the third row an option. And Robert, Ford does listen and responds.

RITA H Will the C-max have sliding rear doors? And is the floor space open as I need to put my manual wheelchair in behind the seats? Will leather be an option?

Brad B Hey Ford ! Bring it on. I had one as a Rental in France and loved it. Had it for a day trip to Normandy. Maybe a GC-Max with a Country Squire option for us wagon lovers. OK, all joking aside from a road salesmans perspective the GC-Max would be great. There are going to be quite a few holes in the marketplace. Maybe a GC-Max as a hybrid as well, I'd definately go there. Grading it on the curve you'd be dern close to the Prius V with a GC-Max hybrid, I'd be happy with a 45 to 50 mpg wagon/van.

Dave I love the look of the Grand C-Max, and the practicality of the sliding doors! We were just about to get the Mazda5 when we heard that the Grand C-Max was coming to the US. I'm so disappointed now that Ford has decided against it. You know, bring the US a good looking practical car such as the 7-pass Grand C-Max and it will sell.

Joel My wife and I have a 2009 Mazda 5, but we hate the new body style that Mazda came out with. We were anxiously awaiting the introduction of the C-Max here in the US, as one of our favorite things about the C-Max and Mazda 5 is the rear sliding doors. We are not interested in getting a minivan, but love the flexibility of the sliding doors. Very disappointed to hear that Ford has suspended the introduction of this vehicle to the US.

debbie Bring the Grand C-max! I don't need the size of my Honda Odyssey anymore but do need the occasional third row seating. I think there are a lot of families in the same situation who'd really appreciate what the grand c-max has to offer.
