With the C-MAX launch, we are prioritizing fuel economy above all, as we believe this is a priority for consumers. Launching C-MAX as a hybrid-only line provides a better opportunity for us to establish this new nameplate in North America as an electrified-only model. Until now, Ford has not offered a hybrid-only product. C-MAX will be that vehicle for Ford, and we think that will help draw interest and attention—the fuel economy performance should draw interest as well! If you are interested in a five-door hatchback with more cargo space than a Focus, though, check out the new Escape that launches later this year. It is has a similar footprint to the C-MAX, but will be offered with a number of traditional engine choices.
